hung out with three of my best friends ( yes yes.. seb i love you okay haha) last night.. while we were in the car singing to jay chous croony ballads and bon jovis hits with the window down and the cool midnight air breezing across my face, i thought to myself "whats up ahead in life man?"
i mean, what im saying is, my past two years in the army has been helluva ride.. but now im entering into a new phase with new changes and challeges.. its kinda daunting.. a lot of my friends are excited about entering into the university.. they think its a great time to have a ball, let loose, go wild, chase skirts.. its all about how they look, what they should wear, how they should act.. theres where they fall into the trap of superficiality..
yes we must have fun most definitely, im not a prude.. but take things into perspective man! don be overwhelmed by the what nots.. cos i foresee the following months ahead to be wrought with challenges and upheavals, triumphs and disappointments.. choppy waves lie ahead.. whoever works and fights harder and smarter towards the goal will ultimately be the winner.. focus, discipline, determination and perseverance..
when i trained under irwin seet, now director of the sports school ( i hated the guy, but i must admit he's good).. he always believed everything was in the mind.. he used to tell us to think of a personal psyche-up phrase like "hit-em!" to arouse us on the field.. mine used to be "bring it on bitch!".. and now it seems apt to use it once again.. cos lifes a bitch, and we're gonna have helluva a game ahead, so shut the fuck up and pick a uniform, go in and get the job done..
Bible verses of encouragement:
* If God is for us who then can be against us - Rom 8:31
* I will go in the strength of the Lord God - Ps 71:16
* Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us - Heb 12:1
* Even the youths shall be faint ad weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but they that wait upon the Lord Shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall wlk and not faint
- Is 10:31
* Surely you know that many runners take part in a race, but only one of them wins the prize. Run, then, in such a way as to win the prize. Every athlete in training submits to strict discipline, in order to be crowned with a wreath that will not last; but we do it for one that will last for ever. That is why I run straight for the finishing line...'
