first week in holland. school starts on monday. so far its just been settling in and getting used to things. went to a frat bash on fri night and got to know a couple of the locals. nobody i've met so far has been to s'pore, they know where it is but have never been there, most haven't even been to asia. seems like the bunch of us are flying the flag high in this foreign land.
first training with the TU/e squad on tuesday. they're mudder big! but seen them in the park, technically average i guess. im probably the only chinese boy crazy enough to take on these giant fucks here haha.. well jonny pulled it off in amsterdam. dunno la see how la.. also, they train at night which is so damn cold.
speaking of which, we went up to amsterdam on saturday, or the venice of the north as they call it. visted anne frank's haus, the rijks museum, housing art from van gogh and rembrant, and the infamous de wallen red light district.
on sunday morning i attended a nearby catholic church. the congregation is so sparse and old, the average age is probably 70 to 80. worse still, they didnt even have a dutch priest, a nigerian priest takes charge of two churches, this one and another one a few blocks away. he wasnt in so two ministers had to cover for him.
everything here is still a little surreal. luckily im here with people i know, otherwise i cant imagine the difficulties i'd face, really.
