SIN CITY lessons begun. taking two psychology and three engineering classes. the style here's pretty different, and the students are really reserved, save the odd enthu kia, which is a surprise actually. when they do raise a question, its often a "wtf? what does the question have to do with anything?" kinda question. they are clever tho, and the profs are not too bad as well.
holland really tests a persons will. you see, ive been looking for a bike all this while, and i heard stolen bikes are pretty cheap. so i was approached by this black dude at the station who offered one for €10. i had already made up my mind to get it when i headed for the station, but when he offered me, i just couldnt do it. the thought of me giving him the cash, him breaking the lock in front of me and giving me the bike simply made me too guilt stricken. not so much afraid, but feeling bad for the owner. even the others have caught the bug, a mistake by the hotelier led us to having 3 free nights but nobody spoke up. not that im all that good anyway.. smoked up a doobie earlier on in the week. my first and last ever, i swear. some crazy wicked shit. felt really really bad, thought God was punishing us with insanity the whole time.
went down for my first training on tues. 9pm to 11pm in 4 degrees weather, its a wonder how their fingers dont freeze up. these giants were pretty friendly actually, some even knew about the nrc. they are bloody fit, unlike me, whos severely unfit. got the shock of my life when, without even stretching, they ran 3x800 under 2min for warm up followed by 15min circuit pt. whats more, the soil is so soft it really takes a toll on your legs. not being used to the conditions, i cramped up severely and my lungs constricted, making it hard to breathe. i was really damn lagging for the first half hour. after that came the drills, i was okay with this. shrugged off and brought down quite a few of them during the runs. the feeling of bringing down or shoving off a 7 footer is fantastic! they arent aggressive la, guys back home like kenny chan, tomo and benja can easily take them on. did well enough to warrant a formal intro at the end of training plus a chat with the captain an coach, who invited me down for the next run, so i guess it was okay, thank God. but dunno if i wanna go down leh, i came to play fun rugby, not to kill myself. slack la i..
