Day 2more or less settled in. got the apartment and the car. internets hooked on, phone homes linked up. fridge stocked, with diet coke, juice, timtams and vinegar chips. yeah im pretty much ready for an apocalypse.
they've put me up downtown so everythings nearby, except work. still getting my bearings around the office, but ppl are really nice. went on site with dave today to look at the stations. i honestly think we do things better than they do, aptitude-wise, maybe their work attitudes better. dont know why im here. anw they said i came on a good day since it was the melbourne cup yesterday, a horserace held annualy that stops the nation. well im flattered.
meals are ok. have a feeling i will be eating a lot on nandos for the next couple of months. and i do mean A LOT, since theres one just opposite my apartment. probably a lot of kebabs as well, i feel the kebabness in me rearing its high calorie head again ala holland. just this afternoon, i took a whole 30min to finish my lunch of kebab and chips, purely eating. but no worries, the apartment has a gym and a pool so will probably be working out quite a bit.
the music they play here is shite. during the drive home, the aussie version of muttons comes on. before bedtime radios decent enough. richard merzac plays sappy love songs from the 80s/90s. the dedications people make on air are really entertaining, considering tv's no good. 1/3 of declarations are either gay/lesbian, and merzac reads all with a dead straight voice.
probably check out some watering holes with debs friend over the weekend. plus taronga. dont know why im so excited to see the animals, even more so than the galleries surprisingly.
