if i were to think of a creature that best describes Singaporeans.. i would have to say that it would be the earthworm..
since ive been on attachment to powergas this week, ive travelled all over Singapore to observe how the gas system works.. what struck me most was the extent of diggin everywhere by every tom dick and harry.. many people mistake that since everyone at a construction site by the roads is a banglah wearin a yellow hard hat, everyone comes from the same organisation.. thats so not true.. if ya observe the cones carefully, ya will see the logos of many different companies.. power gas, power grid, pub, hdb, lta blah blah blah.. to the extent that at one junction, there were workers and excavators from three different companies diggin at various parts of the junction!
why huh? why? why must we dig and dig and dig?.. even when we have no gold to dig for, we still must dig.. always causing stupid jams on the roads.. the best thing is that we Singaporeans like to dig, then fill it up again, dig then fill it up again.. just to find means and ways to spend government money to increase GDP and stimulate the economy.. this is called discetionary measures of the fiscal policy in econs (haha see! who says i dont pay attention in class)..
neway the thing is.. ive never seen a society who likes to dig so much before.. ask our neighbours.. who likes to dig as much as us?.. we should make diggin a national pastime.. "Dig Singapore!" how bout dat? a campaign to encourage singaporeans to embrace these senseless noisy diggin projects.. we shall all go to the grass patches beside the pavements down by our houses with a shovel and chunkol and dig and dig for nothin the whole day.. then we fill it up so we can dig for nothing again on the followin years diggin day..
considerin that singapore is sucha tiny island, we sure dig a lot.. no wonder our national hero is a contractor with yellow boots!

i happened to see the ad wishin moms a happy mother's day on tv the other day featuring wong lilin and i must say that the governments subtle efforts to boost our nations birth rate is really catchin on..
there has never been a more fashionable time to be a mother than now.. jus look ard ya.. tvs full of celebrities who are new moms.. may phua, zoe tay, wong lilin, sun ho, evelyn tan.. gone are the days when it was a statement to be a successful single woman clad from head to toe in designer clothes clubbing her night away at the hottest nightspot.. that is terribly passe.. these days its hip to be a beautiful young mom with her kid at starbucks sipping latte and chatting with fellow young moms.. it is the new cult symbol to be a happily married young mom with a cute kid who has no financial or domestic burdens whatsoever.. but do note.. it seems that the government has protrayed single motherhood and premarital sex to be terribly uncool..
this brings me to my next point.. the milf count in singapore is on the rise! haha.. some of these moms look simply stunning.. jus look at ivy lee and you'll know what i mean haha
so during this moment i would like to wish all mothers, milfs and uncool dawdy moms (like mine hee) a happy mothers day!

p/s: to everyone, please note that my new hair colour is ASH! stop mistakin it for gold, blonde, slver, white, platinum, GREEN ( where got look like green ya tell me?)

ok heres a preachy little blog if ya don mind.. figuring how much of a sinful soul i am.. this is pretty impressive..
todays ascension day.. the day that we commemorate jesus rising to heaven from earth forty days after his resurrection..
its interesting when i look at the life of jesus.. heres a man whos so powerful, the son of god no less.. but was looked down upon by many of the people in his time.. the pharisees despised him.. the romans ignored him.. even the people of his own village had little faith in him when he returned to perform miracles but couldnt due to their lack of faith.. on the cross, people spat on him when he could have actually have them burn in hell at that very instance..
yet he never struck out at those who hurt him and slighted him.. it wasnt important whether people thought he was a great person or not.. even when the pharisees asked him to perform a miracle before their eyes, he didnt see the need to despite being able to cure multitudes of sick people.. what was important was that he truely loved people.. spoke his mind and was like a meek lamb throughout his entire life.. never harbouring ill.. true and genuine
dont ya sometimes wish to be more like him.. its difficult in life do that.. when people challenge ya.. ya strike back immediately.. i guess sometimes when people think ya are incapable, keep ya mouth shut and jus let them, its better that way, time will prove them wrong..

i simply lurvve the new cadbury ad!! haha.. ya know the one which goes to the tune of the beach boys song 'wouldnt it be nice'?.. well its been a hit in australia and its taking singapore by storm
there are actually several versions to it but only two are shown here.. the one about the family road trip and the one about the beach.. don ya find it simply hilarious how the chocolate father who is driving the chocolate car accidently breaks the chocolate gear stick and then smiles and casually eats it in the first version.. or when the chocolate surfer on the chocolate sea happily invites the chocolate shark to bite his chocolate ass haha..
is being a chocolate really such a bliss? if so i would like to be one too! white chocolate please.. no racial implications whatsoever.. its jus that i like white chocolate more than any other kind..

Postie
Wouldn't it be nice if the world was Cadbury
Chocolate roads and trees 'n' birds 'n' bees
Delivering all kinds of letters daily
Every kind of purple parcel too
And if the dog did try and grab a mouth full
You can bite him back, he'll taste delightful
Wouldn't it be nice.!

Surfer
Wouldn't it be nice if the world was Cadbury
You could surf inside a chocolate tube
Ride your board across the wave forever
Get wiped out and never get a bruise.
And if a shark came up and tried to bite you
You could say "I'm chocolate I invite you"
Wouldn't it be nice!

Soccer
Wouldn't it be nice if the world was Cadbury
You could be a soccer super star
The referee would blow his chocolate whistle
A shot on goal would even break the bar
And if you went and scored the winner
You'd win the cup and eat it for your dinner
Wouldn't it be nice!

Car
Wouldn't it be nice if the world was Cadbury,
Driving in the car would be a tasty treat,
Changing gear would soon become a problem,
Cadbury Dairy Milk is so good to eat.
And when you arrive at your destination,
You'll be greeted with an exclamation,
Wouldn't it be nice!

i did the right thing.. i think.. it was the wisest but was it the smartest thing to do?
initially i was convinced i was making something out of nothing.. out of the blue.. jus a normal everyday thing.. furthermore i wasn't interested at all to begin with.. ok i am interested in the money haha..
but in only a very short span.. my ideas were slowly gaining credibility.. once, twice.. banter chatter.. tonight it was rather evident.. i was caught in a spot
fancy of fancies! haha.. it was flattering i must say.. me? why? i cant think of anything with reason of worth..
but the answer was simple.. and im dead sure it did disappoint.. i could easily have done otherwise
there wasnt much thought put to the decision actually.. no tempting propositions in my mind thankfully.. firstly, there is no comparision.. in terms of the soul of course.. on the outside everything is deceiving.. furthermore i am strong ya see.. i have integrity.. i do what is right.. if this were a play.. i wanna be the hero not the villain..
the thing is.. would my act have been done upon me if roles were reversed.. its hard to say.. history would prove me a fool.. but my weakness is that of fervent belief.. if that can be considered a flaw..
i have been told by my closest confidant.. if selflessness or selfishness lay before you, take selfishness.. i cannot.. am i too weak? i say with a firm no. he is probably right, but its not about you, its about me.. i will not allow myself to betray myself despite all.. i will play by the rules.
i might still be making something out of nothing.. i have i knack for that dont i.. but people think i always do that.. i dont.. many are often true.. its jus that i dont like to stir a mess for myself.. well in this case, guess we'll never know..
interestingly and coincidently.. i have a choice of elated or jubilant.. thats not too bad isnt it.. i choose jubilant!
